Step 1: Settings in Google Cloud Platform

Let’s start by creating an OAuth client ID:

Go to https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/credentials and choose ‘Create credentials’, then select OAuth client ID.

Next, choose Web application:

In the next step, you need to name the client ID. Choose a clear name, for example: 'Web client Pluvo academy' so you’ll remember what this client ID is used for.

Then copy the “filled in” parameters from Pluvo. You can find these parameters under Admin > Settings > 'SSO & LTI':

When you click on 'management' and then on 'users', you'll arrive at the overview page of the users.

Creating a User

To create a user, click on 'new user' in the user overview. Here, you fill in the details of the new user.

Under Language, indicate in which language you want the user to see the platform interface. By default, this is the language of the organization, which you've set in management under 'academy'. You can always change the interface language for a specific user in their profile. To do this, go to 'users' > click on the user's name > click on 'profile'.

When creating a user, you can also assign additional roles, such as author or manager. In our article on roles, you can find out what these roles entail.

Adding Categories

You can add categories to users (and to learning journeys). A category is a field with additional information. For example, if you have learners from different organizations, you may want to create a category 'organization' so that you can easily filter users based on this.

Single Sign-On (SSO) for your academy

With Pluvo, you can easily set up Single Sign-On (SSO) for your academy. Single Sign-On (SSO) means that you have access to various applications or systems using one username and password. So, you don't need to log in again for each separate application. This means that participants can log in with their organizational login credentials and get immediate access to Pluvo!

||| Note! SSO is only available when you have a Company subscription or higher.

Setting Up SSO

Setting up SSO in Pluvo is straightforward. Go to the 'Administration' tab in your academy, select 'Settings', and then 'SSO & LTI'.

The SSO option we offer is OpenID Connect. This, along with SAML, is the most well-known method to implement Single Sign-on. Click on OpenID connect, and a pop-up window will appear where you can create an OpenID connect.

In this Pop-up window, you can fill in the following fields:

[Name]: Choose the name of the group where users will be placed in Pluvo. This name is only visible to administrators.
[Text on the button login page]: Customize the text on the login

User roles, who can do what?

Users in the system can have different roles. The role determines what a user can see and do. In this article, we describe the differences between these roles.

The Four General User Roles

We use four general roles in Pluvo. The general roles listed below can be assigned to a user when creating an account or later by editing the user’s profile. When you add someone to Pluvo without giving them an admin function, they will automatically be seen as a participant.

1. Trainer

A trainer can be linked to your learning journeys or your offers. This person can manage participants, view and assess submitted assignments, and monitor the results and progress of participants. Additionally, participants in a learning journey can chat with the trainer.

Do you want to add a mentor to your learning journey? Then you must also select the role of trainer here. A mentor has the same permissions as a trainer but is not visible to participants. Therefore, participants cannot initiate a chat with this user (although the mentor can start a chat).

Change the profile settings

Under the profile, you can indicate your preferences for email notifications and optionally change your personal details. You can find your profile by clicking on the image of an animal (or another photo, if set) in the top right corner of your screen.
