Taking action from the skills matrix
The skills matrix isn't just for viewing: you can also act directly from it. Do you see that employees are missing a skill or certificate? Then you select them in the matrix and take action all at once. You have three options: enrolling users in a catalog item, notifying them of a catalog item, or sending them a personal message.
Step 1 – Select the users
Check the box on the left next to the names of the users you want to take action for. You can select multiple at once. A bar then appears at the top showing the number of selected users and an envelope icon.

Step 2 – Choose an action
Click the envelope icon. A menu unfolds with three actions:
Enroll in catalog item
This enrolls the selected users directly in a catalog item, so they can obtain the required certificate.

You successively choose the skill, the certificate and the catalog item you want to enroll them in, and click Enroll.
The users are then enrolled and don't have to do anything themselves to gain access.
Notify of catalog item
This makes the selected users aware of a catalog item, so they can enroll themselves to obtain the certificate. You choose the skill and the certificate, and optionally a specific catalog item. If you don't choose a specific catalog item, the user can choose for themselves which catalog item they use to obtain the certificate. You can include a message and then click Notify.

The difference from enrolling: with notifying, the user takes the step themselves; with enrolling, you do it for them.
Personal message
Do you only want to send the selected users a message, for example a reminder or explanation? Then choose this option. Fill in a subject (required) and your message, and click Send message. The message goes to all selected users.
