Opening another learning journey after completing a course/module
By using Zapier, you can open another learning journey after completing a course module or submitting a file.
You’ll need the webhook trigger for this.
You can use the Webhook trigger in two ways:
- With an assignment: Place an assignment alongside the trigger in the module group and the trigger will be activated each time someone uploads a file. This is super handy if you want to collect the files not only in Pluvo but also store them externally.
- When the conditions of the module group are met: When the condition unlocks the module group, the trigger will be sent. This is great if, for example, you want to remove a user from the learning journey once it's completed.
Note: This condition-trigger is only sent once per user per trigger. If you want the trigger to be activated again for a user, you need to re-save the module group in the admin panel. This will resend all completed triggers.
Adding a trigger to Pluvo
You add a trigger to a module group and copy the reference name of the trigger for use in Zapier.
From the list of modules, select the Webhook module.
Enter an external reference (you can come up with this yourself or generate one online) and copy it to your clipboard.
Set a condition on the module group
By setting a condition on the module group, the Zapier trigger will be sent once this condition is met by the participant.
In this case, we want to add someone to a new learning journey when another learning journey has been completed. You need to decide for yourself what counts as completion: for example, when the last course module is completed, or when a file is submitted.
In this case, we assume the learning journey is completed when a course module is completed. We'll set that condition accordingly.
Now everything is set correctly in the module, and the Zapier module will be triggered when a participant completes this course module.
Let’s head over to Zapier to define what should happen when the trigger is activated.
Creating a Zap trigger in Zapier
- Create a new zap and search for the Pluvo app with the trigger Module Group Unlocked
- Under 'Find new records', you’ll see data from Pluvo that you can use for the next steps.
- Use the plus button below to add the helper app 'Filter'. This allows you to filter the zap so that it only continues if the trigger has a specific reference. Use the reference you entered in Pluvo.
Add user to learning journey
After finding the user, you need to add them to your learning journey.
- Click the plus button below the zap you just created.
- Choose Pluvo under 'choose app'.
- Under 'Choose action event', select 'add user to e-learning'.
- Again, select the correct Pluvo account. Click continue.
- Under User Reference, select user reference.
- Under e-learning reference, select the e-learning to which you want to add the user.
- Under send invite, choose whether you want your participant to receive an invitation to the learning journey in their inbox. 'True' means yes, 'false' means no.
- Proceed to the test tab to check if the app is properly connected.
Almost done!
The only thing left is to turn the Zap on and test if it works.
Tip: Want to add someone to multiple learning journeys at once? Don’t use 'add user to e-learning', but instead use 'add user to group'. Then link this group to the relevant learning journeys. The user will be added to all of them immediately after completion.
