Knowledge base
The Knowledge Base
The knowledge base is the central storage location for general information and documents. Think of manuals, templates, and books, where your learners can easily access all the important information (previously known as the library).
The knowledge base is available starting from a Team subscription. Upgrade to use the knowledge base.
Creating a Knowledge Base
At the top of the menu bar, you'll find a book icon. Click on it to begin creating your knowledge base.
General Settings of the Knowledge Base
You can give your knowledge base a professional look by adding an image. Click on the gear icon at the very top. Here, you can upload an image and also change the title and description of your knowledge base. These will be visible to your learners when they access the knowledge base.
Adding Collections
Collections are a group of articles, making it easier to find them. Consider creating collections like 'advanced materials' or 'extra assignments.'
To add a collection, click on the '+' sign next to 'collections.' Then, provide a title and description. You can determine who can access this collection. For instance, grant access to all participants of a specific learning path or based on the groups you've created.
When you're ready to make your collection visible to selected users, toggle the switch for 'published' and click on save!
Adding Articles
You can add articles independently to the knowledge base or within a collection. Wherever you are, click on the plus sign next to 'article.' Now, you can adjust the title and description. Upon saving, you'll enter the editor where you can format the article as you prefer.
Articles aren't just limited to text. You can also embed videos from platforms like YouTube, provide downloads, and insert images.
To embed your own video, ensure it's already uploaded under 'videos' in the administration. Copy the video URL and paste it within the article under the embed icon shown in the image below.
Note: You can easily rearrange the order of your articles and collections. For instance, click on an article and simply drag it to another position.
