Setup conditions within a learning journey
Setting conditions within a module group in Pluvo
You can precisely determine when participants gain access to learning materials/modules in Pluvo.
Adding a Condition
Go to your learning path.
Click on the pencil icon in your module group.
Select the condition you want to apply to your module group. The differences are explained below.
On Participant Entry
Not every participant starts a course at the same time, especially in e-learning. Dosing content can be beneficial to prevent overwhelming participants with new information. In Pluvo, we call this type of training an 'Entry Participant,' also known as a drip campaign.
Start
Specify how many hours, days, or weeks after someone starts the learning path the module group will open. Enter the number (e.g., 1) and choose hour, day, or week. By default, an email is sent to the participant based on the specified condition. You can disable this if you prefer.
Hidden
If hidden is selected, the participant can only see the module group once the condition is met. If unchecked, the participant can see the module group but cannot open it.
Closing Date
Automatically close the module group by entering a number (e.g., 5) and specifying whether it's in hours, days, or weeks. Check 'Hidden' if you want the module group to be hidden after closing. If 'Hidden' is unchecked, the module remains visible but cannot be opened. For example, close the module group 5 days after entry. The participant can still see what they have done but cannot access the content of the module group.
Date
For physical meetings or webinars, you can open a module group on a specific date and time. Choose 'date,' select the date, a start time, and optionally an end time.
By default, an email is sent to the participant based on the specified condition. You can disable this by unchecking the 'Email Notification' field.
Completion of Course Module
Module groups can be automatically opened based on the completion of a course module. For instance, you can automatically send a certificate or ensure that a new course module opens only when another is completed.
Course Module
Select the course module that needs to be completed before the module group is opened.
You can optionally add a score requirement. For example, someone must score at least 55% before the course module opens. Alternatively, if someone receives a failing grade, you can offer additional learning materials.
Status Open
The module group opens when the course module is completed. However, you can also choose for the module group to open X hours/days/weeks after completion. Specify how many hours, days, or weeks after completion the module group becomes available.
By default, an email is sent to the participant based on the specified condition. You can disable this by unchecking the 'Email Notification' field.
Hidden
If hidden is selected, the participant can only see the module group once the condition is met. If unchecked, the participant can see the module group but cannot open it.
Closing Date
You can automatically close the module group. Enter a number (e.g., 5) and specify whether it's in hours, days, or weeks. If 'Hidden' is unchecked, the module group remains visible but cannot be opened. For example, close the module group 5 days after completing the specified course module. The participant can still see the components but cannot open the content.
Availability of Individual Modules
We've explained how to set conditions on a module group. However, you can also change the availability of each individual module.
Let's take an example: suppose I want my course module to open on April 20 at 09:00. I can set that condition using the 'On Date' condition, as explained above. But within the same module group (because it belongs together), I also want to add an evaluation that only opens a day later. If I add the course module with evaluation questions to the same module group, the evaluation will take on the condition of the module group and open on April 20. Fortunately, there's a solution!
Go to your learning path.
Click on the pencil icon next to the course module.
Click on 'More Settings.'
Go to the 'Availability' tab.
Set the desired exception.
